There is a lot of news out there. Do any search for your industry on Google and you'll get millions of responses to common key phrases. So how do you know what's useful and relevant and of interest to those you are connected to?

"And do you really have the time to search
for content every day?"

Many of our clients have a sharing page built into their blog. This is all about content and can include their blog posts, testimonials, sales messages and videos. It uses a consistent format for each of these and lets our clients share this content to Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin quickly and easily, either directly or via Buffer.

So how does it work then? Well, each of our clients gives us a selection of key phrases they'd like news items for. We set up Google Alerts for each of them and direct the findings to our 'news queue' as it happens. This produces a long list of web pages and we then check each one is useful and relevant.

As an example ...

If a client asked us to search for 'construction' in the UK, you'd imagine there'd be a lot of web pages found for that. Well, yes there are, but if you're looking for construction news that's relevant to people who work on building sites, news about future projects being proposed by developers, planning permissions being granted or senior people moving from company to company would not be of much interest to them.

As tradespeople, our client's own customers would be more interested in health and safety news, new building techniques, onsite practices, equipment reviews and maybe even a bit of industry humour.

See why news needs validating first?

Which is why our clients ask us to check this content for them by subscribing to our News Searching Add-On Service. We'll check what Google Alerts send over, ensure it is useful and relevant to your target audiences, check that it has everything needed to share correctly on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and if it passes those tests, We'll add that news item to your sharing page.

"News items expire after 7 days, so you're not wading through lots of old news!"

Why would you want to share industry news? Well, apart from putting your brand in front of your likers, followers and connections, along with your own thoughts on a particular news item, you're showing people that your finger is truly on the pulse of your industry, that you're a thought leader, and the person they need to talk to when they're looking for products or services just like yours.

We do all the work and you get all the glory! What's not to like about that?

Until next time ...
